Lakota, Dakota (Sioux)

Annishinabe and Métis (Little Shell Chippewa)
Montana Family Planning acknowledges that we – specifically those of us who are not Indigenous or Black – are on the ancestral and unceded territory of these tribes and other Indigenous peoples. We honor the path they have always shown us in caring for this place for generations to come. We acknowledge them as the past, present, and future caretakers of this land.
We further acknowledge the centuries of reproductive oppression imposed on Indigenous people that continues to marginalize and cause harm today. Indigenous communities have long fought for reproductive justice and we have all benefitted from their leadership. We strive to listen and learn from the wisdom and experiences of our Indigenous partners as we work together to create a more just and healthy Montana.
